Korovita Health: Care Rooted in Life.
“I founded Korovita Health with a simple belief: everyone deserves to receive care with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Throughout my years in healthcare and community service, I have learned that meaningful care extends beyond medical treatment. It is about listening, building trust, supporting families, and helping people maintain their independence.
At Korovita Health, we are committed to creating a home care experience where every client feels valued, every family feels supported, and compassion guides everything we do.”
— Abdul Koroma, RN
I’m proud to call the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia (DMV) region my home—a place filled with vibrant communities, diverse cultures, and people from all walks of life.
Born at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland, as a first-generation Sierra Leonean American, I was raised throughout the DMV. Growing up surrounded by different cultures, religions, and traditions taught me the importance of understanding others, embracing our differences, and treating everyone with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to receive guidance and encouragement from incredible mentors, community organizations, and faith-based institutions. Their investment in me helped shape the person, healthcare professional, and community advocate I am today.
I began my career in medicine in 2011, and over the past 15 years, I have gained experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, vascular medicine, community health, and direct patient care, ultimately becoming a Registered Nurse.
Beyond clinical healthcare, I have dedicated much of my time to community health initiatives, public health education, community advocacy, youth mentorship, and volunteer service. Through health screenings, outreach programs, and educational initiatives, I have worked to promote health awareness, support underserved populations, and help individuals and families better understand and advocate for their healthcare needs.
These experiences have strengthened my belief that healthcare is not only about treating illness. It is also about empowering people, removing barriers to care, building trust, and creating healthier, stronger communities. That commitment inspired me to create Korovita Health.
My goal is simple: to provide compassionate, dependable, and culturally sensitive home care that helps individuals maintain their dignity, independence, and quality of life while giving families the support and peace of mind they deserve.
Korovita Health is more than a business to me. It is an opportunity to give back to the communities that raised me, honor the mentors and organizations that paved the way for me, and continue advocating for the well-being of those who need support.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and Korovita Health. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your family.
